Your laptop can help secure a brand-new blockchain today — no special hardware, no coding, no sign-up. Download one file, click Start, and you are mining.
Why PSYROB, and why now
PSYROB is a new CPU-mined proof-of-work network in its testnet phase, and every single PSY in existence is being created right now by people mining it on ordinary computers. There is no airdrop and no pre-mine. Nobody got a head start: if you want PSY, you mine it.
Three things make it unusually easy to join:
- CPU-only mining. PSYROB uses Argon2d, a memory-hard algorithm built to resist GPU and ASIC farms. A regular desktop or laptop competes on fair terms.
- One-click setup. The miner bundles everything it needs. No Node.js, no command-line wallets, no config files.
- A friendly dashboard. Mining runs from a local browser page with wallet, threads and stats in one place, in 11 languages.
Be clear on one thing: this is a testnet, and testnet PSY has no real-world value. You are here to explore the network, stress-test it and be part of it early — not to earn money.
Before you start: 4 rules that protect you
Two minutes here saves you from the only mistakes that can't be undone.
- Download only from the official page: explorer.psyrob.com/run-a-node. The current version is 10.0.2.
- Verify the download. Compare the file's SHA256 hash with the list in
SHA256SUMS.txton that page. It takes ten seconds:- Windows (PowerShell):
Get-FileHash .\psyrob-miner-10.0.2-windows-x64.exe - Linux:
sha256sum psyrob-miner_10.0.2_amd64.deb
- Windows (PowerShell):
- Use a fresh key. Create a new wallet for PSYROB. Never reuse a key from another blockchain.
- Your private key is your wallet. Lose it and your funds and identity are gone for good — nobody can recover them. Write it on paper and keep it offline.
Windows 10 or 11: mining in 5 minutes
You need a 64-bit Windows PC and one download of about 94.6 MB.
- Go to the official download page and, under Miner for Windows, download
psyrob-miner-10.0.2-windows-x64.exe. - Verify its SHA256 hash (see rule 2 above).
- Double-click the file. If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway — but only for the file you just verified.
- A black window opens — leave it open. Your browser opens the miner dashboard, which runs only on your computer. Use the globe button to switch language.
- Under Wallet, click Create a new wallet, then Show the private key. Write the key on paper and store it offline. Hide it again when done.
- Under Settings, pick a thread count. Each thread uses one CPU core and about 32 MiB of RAM. Leave one or two cores free so your PC stays responsive.
- Click Start mining. That's it — rewards go to the wallet address on your dashboard.
To stop: click Quit PSYROB Miner under Settings, or close the black window. Your wallet data stays in %APPDATA%\PSYROB Miner.
Linux: Ubuntu and every other 64-bit distro
Ubuntu (easiest, 29.9 MB). Download psyrob-miner_10.0.2_amd64.deb from the official page, verify it, then double-click it to install through App Center — or use a terminal:
sudo apt install ./psyrob-miner_10.0.2_amd64.debOpen PSYROB Miner from your applications menu, or run psyrob-miner in a terminal.
Any other distro (43.5 MB). Download psyrob-miner-10.0.2-linux-x64.tar.gz, then run:
tar -xzf psyrob-miner-10.0.2-linux-x64.tar.gz
cd psyrob-miner-10.0.2-linux-x64
./psyrob-minerThe dashboard opens in your browser. From here it's the same as Windows: create a wallet, write down the private key, choose threads, and click Start mining. Wallet data lives in ~/.local/share/psyrob-miner.
Level up: run your own node
You don't need a node to mine — the miner uses the public node by default. Running your own lets you verify the chain yourself and makes the network stronger and more independent.
Windows. Download psyrob-node-10.0.2-windows-x64.zip, right-click it and choose Extract All, then double-click Start-PSYROB-node.bat and leave the window open.
Linux. Download psyrob-node-10.0.2-linux-x64.tar.gz, then run:
tar -xzf psyrob-node-10.0.2-linux-x64.tar.gz
cd psyrob-node-10.0.2-linux-x64
./psyrob-nodeData is stored in ~/.psyrob.
Check it's genuine. Open http://127.0.0.1:8770/health in your browser. The genesis hash must match this exactly:
0xe80031e7dec18c0693f15cfc685b01dd6a226b2392ff08c85ec6e782549d7a15If it doesn't match, don't trust that node. Your local explorer is at http://127.0.0.1:8770.
Point your miner at it. In the dashboard, open Nodes, select My node on this PC (http://127.0.0.1:8770), move it to the top and click Save. Keep the public node in the list as a backup.
Watch your progress
Your dashboard shows status, hash rate and every block you find. To see how you stack up against the whole network, check live mining stats on the PSYROB explorer, or browse blocks on the main explorer.
Quick fixes
You see | What to do |
|---|---|
Mining stopped | Keep the miner window (and node window) open while mining. |
Node messages about | Normal while the node connects and syncs. Check progress on the local health page. |
Windows Firewall prompt for the node | You can usually cancel. The node listens only on your computer by default. |
Computer feels slow | Lower the thread count in Settings. |
Unsure a node is genuine | Compare its genesis hash with the one above before trusting it. |
FAQ
Do I need a graphics card? No. PSYROB is CPU-only by design.
Will it slow my computer down? Only as much as you let it. Each thread uses one core and about 32 MiB of RAM, so you choose the load.
Is PSY worth money? No. This is a testnet, and testnet PSY has no real-world value.
Do I have to install anything else? No. The miner bundles everything it needs.
Can I see the code? Yes. It's open on GitHub, with developer instructions for building from source.
Start mining today
The network is being built right now, block by block, by people like you. Grab the miner, create your wallet, back up that key — and you can be mining within minutes.
Found a block? Hit a snag? Share it in the comments — testnet feedback is how the network gets better.
